Hairdressers “expose” dozens of clients to COVID, zero clients contract it!

Have you read the articles about the two hairdressers who were working while they had COVID? There was a lot of blame and fear, but in the end, of the more than 100 clients who they worked with while contagious, zero of the clients became infected. All clients and technicians were wearing masks, and they worked! This news has given me substantial peace of mind about working in the salon, where many of my clients are in at least one high risk group. My biggest fear has been that I would accidentally spread COVID to someone else and get them sick. I have been super careful, both at work and away, to avoid contracting it, but there will always be some risk. While that is still true, the data seems to suggest that we are maintaining a very low risk in our salon, through constant mask use for anyone and everyone in the salon, thorough disinfection, and limiting clients. We never let the next client in until all surfaces previously touched have been disinfected, and we allow time for fresh air to circulate via our windows, which are open throughout the entire day.
